Young MacGyver was a planned spin-off of the MacGyver TV
show. The story would follow the exploits of the original Angus
MacGyver's nephew, Clay, as he followed in his uncles footsteps
working assignments for the Phoenix Foundation.
It was
scheduled to start in the fall of 2003. The pilot episode was filmed, but never aired.
Below is a synopsys and screen captures of the first part of the pilot
episode.
Synopsys, screen captures and
videos provided by BeefyBoyGod.
As we fade-in, we are greeted by a new
shiny-metallic scrolling MacGyver logo(temp, most likely), accompanied by a voiceover:

CLAY
"My Uncle, Angus MacGyver, was the Chief Operative for The Phoenix Foundation,
an international justice group. Over the last 23 years, he's taught me how to get out
of any situation, and into his line of work. I just completed my operative training.
I am Clay MacGyver."
Cut to: A fast food restaurant, as we are introduced to Clay and his friend.
They compete to see who can eat the most fast food, without throwing up.
They go to investigate what sounds like an explosion, but are told it's a
natural gas explosion by "Avalanche Control". Clay overhears two Officers
talking:
"it killed two Geologists, and we have a third stuck in the second crevace."
Clay goes to help, but an Officer tries to stop him "I will lock you up! There's a
Protocol here!" says the Cop.
"I hate that word.", says Clay, and in his Uncle's fashion, speeds past the cop.
MacGyverism #1: Clay constructs a bomb out of a portable stovetop's gas tank,
to cause an avalanche so they can get to the person in danger.
MacGyverism #2: Clay uses the remaining pieces of the portable
stove, to make a sled out of, so he can make his way to the Crevice.

MacGyverism #3: Clay uses the burner grates to make some snow shoes(?).

After a close call, Clay is able to bring the man to safety.
Clay realizes, that the preceding wasn't what they lead them to believe:
"It wasn't a Natural Gas explosion... it was a terrorist attack." says Clay to
his friend.

CUT TO:

The Phoenix Foundation.

We are told the rock Clay found back in Nevada, was actually an uncut Canary Diamond.

"Why would the United Liberation Front, want to blow up an untapped Canary Diamond
resource, in the Sierra Nevadas?"
We cut to our main villain in West Africa: the same guy Clay rescued(!).
Meanwhile at Phoenix: Clay tries to get their
only suspect to crack,
and give up the launch codes to the Missile/where the missile is gonna hit.
Not working.
"Maybe there's something we're not seeing." says Clay.
"You know, you really have that sketched criminal look down.
But I may just make a few minor adjustments."
So, he asks for a pair of Barber shears. What's he gonna do....
give him a trim? More than that, apparently.
Clay shaves the suspects head to reveal..... some sort of code.

It's entered into the comp to decode, and sure enough.... its launch coordinates.

CUT TO: U.S.S. Goodwin Naval Base - North Atlantic Ocean

After Goodwin briefs everyone on the mission, they're off to....
Africa.
Sneaking into and around the Terrorist's Camp, Clay finds the Missile.
He uses a Emergency Generator to weld a piece of metal to a quarter,
and sticks it to the tire of the truck the missile is on.

...but Clay gets caught, and knocked out.

When he comes to, he's tied up in a mining cave.

After the usual "Villain reveals all his plans to the hero" bit,
they leave Clay and the guy alone with... yep, a bomb.
Clay manages to cut the rope loose.
Before Clay and Co. can get out of the cave, the bomb is detonated!

The cave comes crashing down on all 3.
